About me:

I am a creative director on a mission and have been involved within the independent arts industry for over 13 years. I have been successfully planning and executing social cause events for the past 7 years. I have accumulated a vast network of professional independent artists and potential not-for-profit clients. I am extremely passionate about art in general but mostly intrigued by its capacity to bring people together. I have over ten years of customer service, sales and corporate experience and posess a double major in law and psychology. I strongly believe that this business will flourish, as the success of my future staff will lend to the success of not-for-profit organizations that will in turn help those in need.

Business Description:

The Collective will be an event planning and marketing organization geared towards serving primarily not-for-profits. We will provide employment opportunities to "starving artists and hungry maketers" and provide them with the opportunity to get paid fairly for their creations, performances and marketing efforts. Our organization will provide the most cost effective way to increase the visibility of not-for-profits by offering them the best artistic talent, marketing and events Toronto has to offer. If a smaller not-for-profit organization lacks the funds to pay our competitive fees we will also accept tax receipts for our services. All profits will be donated monthly to a variety of not-for-profit organizations chosen by our selected board of directors. The social conciousness of our organization will definitely attract private and corporate investors because their involvement with our mission will assist them in building the corporate social responsibility of their brand. We will also aim to partner with municipal organizations such as Enterprise Toronto to ensure our staff is trained and provided with self-employment opportunities which will ultimately enable them to employ others in the future. The video submitted was filmed and edited by Rodrigo Castro-Duarte, an example of just one of the talented independent artists I will employ, who has also been paid for his efforts.
